Traditional business models force a choice between profit and purpose, while the scale of our planetary challenges demands solutions that can rapidly transform entire industries. This systemic barrier prevents the widespread adoption of regenerative practices and keeps our economy locked in destructive patterns.
Solution
PASEOs (Purpose-driven Altruistic Syntropy Energizing Organizations) introduce a revolutionary framework that transcends this limitation. By combining peer-to-peer collaboration with strategic market engagement, PASEOs create networks of aligned organizations that share resources, knowledge, and capabilities while maintaining their individual sovereignty. This approach enables them to achieve economies of scale typically reserved for large corporations, dramatically reducing costs of sustainable products and services. As they grow, PASEOs reinvest surplus value back into their networks rather than extracting profits, creating a powerful feedback loop that accelerates the adoption of regenerative practices across entire supply chains and markets.
Development
The PASEO model grew out of the Autonomous Zero-Profit Organism (AZPO) concept in 2020, evolving through hands-on research and practical application. An initial pilot phase developed the core organisational frameworks and tested their viability in real-world conditions, leading to the PASEO Master Blueprint in 2024. The model now offers three forms, Light, Hybrid and Flagship, so that organisations can move into commons collaboration gradually and at their own pace. As part of the broader Open Earth Ecosystem, PASEOs are entering their second pilot phase through GaiaOS, where the first consortium of technology companies is forming. Each company keeps its own identity and mission while committing to shared development, interoperable tools and agreed contributions back to the commons. This consortium is the first real-world test of how sovereign, purpose-driven organisations can collaborate at scale, and what it learns will shape how PASEO networks form in other sectors.
